The Downtown Academy of Technology and Arts school is open for 6th through 8th grades, reaching a maximum of 154 students. Through our engagement with technology, young people will begin a lifelong journey of developing their capabilities and discovering ways to contribute to the world around them. Through technology our students will have a desire to learn. Learning through technology impacts how young people learn to think and also, how they feel and behave. Technology helps children build a value system in which they learn self-discipline, responsibility and develop self-esteem. Students, parents and staff develop "Learning Contracts" to create and maintain portfolios of student's work. The core philosophy of the School reflects the importance of the integration of family and cultural values into the governance and curriculum of the school. This is essential for the increased academic achievement of children. Parents are expected to be active in all aspects of life at the School. Volunteers are welcome!
